Privacy Policy
The short version
drivrmaps has no ads, no tracking, and no third-party analytics. Browsing and driving roads needs no account. If you sign in with Apple, the things you save — favorites, drives, ratings, your profile — are stored in Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) so they follow you between devices. We never sell data.
Location
With your permission, the App uses your device location to show how far away roads are, pick your starting region, plan routes, and give voice guidance while you drive. Location is processed on your device. It is not stored on our servers; a drive's route is saved only if you save the drive to your account.
Your account
Signing in uses Sign in with Apple. Apple shares your name and email with us once, and we ask for a call sign and a home base. These are stored in your account's iCloud records along with your favorites, saved drives, roads you've driven, road ratings, settings, and an optional avatar photo. Your call sign and avatar appear next to ratings you post; your name, email, and home base are never shown to other drivers. You can edit your profile or sign out at any time; signing out stops syncing and leaves your data on the device.
Ratings, shares, and reports
Road ratings you post are public: other drivers see your call sign, your stars, and any comment. Drives you share are public to anyone who has the link. Hazard and traffic reports you file are shown to nearby drivers. Ratings and reports are pseudonymous rather than anonymous: each carries an opaque id derived from your account — never your name, email, or Apple id — and ratings use a different id than reports, so the two cannot be linked to each other or to you. Beyond that id, a rating shows only the call sign you set, and a report shows nothing about you. You can report another driver's rating from the ratings list; it is hidden for you and sent to us to review. Everything else in your account is private to you.
Feedback you send
When you send feedback, rate the App, or report a rating, we receive what you wrote plus your call sign, name, email, the App version, and a short diagnostics file describing the drive (route, timings, engine decisions — no audio, no contacts, no photos beyond one you attach). Feedback is stored in our iCloud database and emailed to cpaul@drivrmaps.com through our own relay. We use it solely to improve the App.
Purchases
drivrmaps Pro is bought through Apple. We never see or store your payment details. Whether this device has an active subscription is checked on the device against Apple's signed receipts; we do not keep a record of your purchases on any server.
Apple services
The App uses Apple MapKit for maps and routing and Apple WeatherKit for road-area weather. When these run, your device communicates with Apple, which may receive approximate coordinates. Apple's handling of this data is described in Apple's privacy policy.
Data on your device
Everything you save is also kept locally (and in your device backups), so the App works without a signal. Deleting the App deletes the local copy; your account's iCloud records remain until you ask us to delete them.
Deleting your data
Email cpaul@drivrmaps.com from the address on your account and we will delete your account's records, including ratings and feedback, within 30 days.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If our practices change, this policy will be updated and the effective date revised before those changes ship.
